A judge has sentenced Marquitta Littlebear to 54 years in prison following a conviction in a DUI fatality accident that killed Susan Mamary in February 2012. According to reports, Littlebear was driving under the influence of alcohol, and had marijuana and cocaine in her system. She was also driving with two children in the car, and left the scene of the accident.
The sentence reflects both the serious consequences of the accident, and the aggravated nature of Littlebear’s conduct. This was Littlebear’s second DUI charge. She was convicted of a previous DUI in 2003 and Public Intoxication in 2006.
Driving Under the Influence is a serious legal matter. A prior DUI conviction can enhance any future charges, which may result in jail time or other consequences. For this reason, it is important to consult with an attorney to understand the potential future risks that may flow from any DUI plea.
